RENDERBOY REVISION HISTORY:
Version 1.0 (Jan, 1997)
* Initial release for Power Macintosh.
Version 1.0.1 (Mar, 1997)
* Fixed an initialization glitch which could cause RenderBoy to crash upon launch when run with certain system extensions.
Version 1.1 (Mar, 1997)
* Added UNDO functionality.
* Added "Create Group" feature to the design menu.
* Added support for 68K Macs.
Version 1.2 (Sept, 1997)
* Index of refraction can vary independently object to object.
* Light sources and objects can selectively cast shadows. For lights, this allows you to create something which looks and acts like a
light, but doesn't generate shadows. For glass (prismatic) objects, this allows light to pass through without generating a shadow.
The elimination of un-needed shadows can also decrease rendering time.
* Light sources can "glow" as if they are radiating energy. Makes them look more realistic.
* Regular objects can appear "bright" like a light, making them suitable for simulating beams of light.
* New object shape: Pryamid (positive and negative).
* Surface dialog box has been simplified and improved.
* Eye view can be manipulated using arrow keys. More intuitive.
* Objects in front/side/top views can be positioned using arrow keys.
* Tested under MacOS 8 to correctly utilize new color selection features, window behavior, window appearance, etc.
Version 2.0.0 (March, 1998)
Drag&Drop Batch Rendering
The new batch rendering feature can be used to render two or more design files in sequence by drag&dropping them on the RenderBoy application icon.
Batch Save Feature
The new "Batch Save" feature can be used to easily create a sequence of design files, where each design represents the frame of an animation.
Movement Settings For Tools.
The new "Tools -> Movement Settings" menu allows you to create acceleration affects when used along with the batch save and batch rendering features.
Texture Projections.
Texture projections can now follow the orientations of objects they are applied to.
Icon Palette
The design view now contains an optional icon palette for "Tools", "Active Views", "New Object", and "Design" menu functions.
Floating Windows
Secondary windows and dialog boxes now "float" above the primary design window.
Triangular Prism Object
A new triangular prism object (both positive and negative) has been added.
Improved Object Orientation Control.
You can now control the order in which front, side, and top view orientations are applied to objects.
Dynamic Manipulation.
You can now control "Object Dimensions" and "Eye View Settings" values dynamically using active scroll buttons.
Standard Monitor Resolutions.
The "Image Size" dialog now supports standard monitor resolutions.
Improved Multi-Monitor Support
If you have multiple monitors, RenderBoy windows do not jump back to the main monitor when you resize them.
Improved Menu Organization
The organization of the "Design", "Tools", and "Layout" menus has been improved.
Version 2.0.1 (April, 1998)
Updated graphics in application and user manual to look better on 8 bit monitors. Updated READ ME docs to reflect the change.
